The Collection of Historical School Photographs

The collection consist of about 4,500 pictures, of which 850 form part of The Trøst-Hansen parish maps, which are accessible on a separate site – see the left-hand column. The collection mainly consists of photographs of school buildings, the interiors of schools and school-related institutions, schoolchildren, teachers, student teachers, school equipment and paintings with school motifs, which have been a part of The Danish School Museum’s collection. The photographs are primarily from the years 1880 to 1960.

We are always interested in seeing and scanning historical and modern pictures of schools, classrooms, subject-based classrooms, objects, schoolyards and more, in order to include them in the collection. Please contact us, if you have any photographs you think could be of interest to the collection. Jebe@kb.dk.
